UPC remains the leading provider of pay-TV services in Hungary irrespective of technology.
According to data published by the regulator NMHH, it had a market share of 26.9% this May and was closely followed by Telekom (25.3%) and Digi (24.9%), with fourth placed Invitel claiming 4.6%.
Based on information supplied by major market players, the number of pay-TV subscriptions in Hungary as of this May stood at 3,254,862.
There were 2,249,244 cable and IPTV subscriptions, of which 1,363,568 were digital, along with 902,465 DTH subscriptions.
Meanwhile, the MinDigi TV Extra pay-DTT service had 103,153 subscriptions.
