The private equity fund Russia Partners is preparing to sell its fixed-line assets in the country.
Kommersant reports that those in St Petersburg and Volgograd are to be acquired by the cable operator ER Telecom, while Rostelecom is ready to buy Aist, one of the largest operators in the Samara region.
In the latter instance, the deal may be undertaken by Bashinformsvyaz, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rostelecom, with the fee amounting to R1.4 billion (€19.23 million).
Although Rostelecom’s board will consider the acquisition of Aist at its next meeting, the deal has already been given the go-ahead by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).
FAS has also approved ER Telecom’s prospective acquisitions from Russia Partners, which operates through a company named Vest Koll, in which it first invested in 2007.
