German broadcasters are finally embracing the concept of on demand television.
Conrad Albert, head of regulatory affairs at ProSiebenSat.1, told the ANGA COM congress broadcasters were no longer scared of non-linear broadcasts, but traditional distribution methods would still be relavant.
“Last Wednesday if we had run Germany’s Next Top Model over OTT we’d have a problem…we’d have needed to double capacity and Frankfurt’s entire broadband infrastructure would have collapsed.”
