The Vilnius Regional Court has upheld a ruling requiring the Lithuanian incumbent teo to compensate the Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre (Telecentras) for losses totaling €713,675.
According to VZ, the losses relate to the termination of analogue broadcasts in the country in 2012.
These increased the service costs incurred by Telecentras, which in turn tried to change a contract with teo, entered into in 2007, in order to offset these increases.
Following teo’s refusal to change the contract, Telecentras appealed to the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) in 2014.
Last year, the latter set an upper price limit on the services provided by Telecentras which teo subsequently lodged an appeal against, only to have it rejected by the Vilnius Regional Court.
