Ukraine’s National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting (‘Rada’) has awarded the company Alma 10-years satellite licences for three TV channels.
The channels in question – Science, Terra and Fauna – will be on air for 24 hours daily and initially show mostly foreign programming, much of it from Russia, before starting to produce their own in 2017.
However, Yuriy Artemenko, the Council’s chairman, has warned of the need to be careful when using content from Russia, described as “the aggressor country”, to ensure it does not violate Ukrainian legislation.
