Three in five (61%) fixed broadband subscribers in Hungary can now access the internet at speeds of over 30 Mbps.
According to data published by the regulator NMHH, the figure, as of April this year, was up from 53% in the same month in 2015.
Telekom was by far the leading player in the country’s fixed broadband market this April, claiming a market share of 35.6%.
It was followed by UPC (21.9%) and Digi (15.2%), with Invitel (9.6%) in fourth place.
The total number of cable broadband subscriptions, based on data provided by the markets leaders, stood at 1,114,043, of which 956,951 were DOCSIS 3.0.
At the same time, there were 788,219 xDSL, along with 466,801 FTTx, subscriptions.
The total number of fixed access broadband subscriptions in the country was estimated to be 2,616,000.
