NetCologne selects Zattoo and Abox42 for IPTV service

June 2, 2016 08.46 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Zattoo-B2B-NetCologneGerman telecommunications provider NetCologne has chosen the IPTV multiscreen solution offered by Zattoo in cooperation with Abox42 for its NetTV platform.

NetTV which launched on May 2, 2016 gives viewers the choice whether they want to watch television content on their big screen TV sets using the NetTV set-top box, through mobile applications on their smartphones and tablets or on their PCs and laptops.

The white-label IPTV solution selected by NetCologne has been developed Zattoo and is fully hosted and managed by the Swiss internet TV provider. With M-net, another network operator of this size recently opted for Zattoo’s IPTV solution in combination with the set-top-box platform from German technology company Abox42.

The M20 set-top-box from Abox42 has been deployed in different projects around the world. It offers features such as local recordings on the box and HbbTV for all major German channels.

NetTV customers have access to around 80 linear TV channels (many in HD quality), an integrated video-on-demand service (maxdome) and a range of pre-installed apps. Channel lists are synchronised across all devices and recordings on the set-top box can be scheduled using mobile apps.

“We are very pleased to manage the multiscreen TV solution for NetCologne, thus, adding a second large German network operator to our portfolio of B2B customers,” said Gernot Jaeger, chief officer B2B TV solutions at Zattoo. “We are at the same time already looking forward to launching further projects of this size later this year.”
