The new German free-to-air TV channel RTLplus will be available on Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV platform Entertain from its launch day on June 4, 2016.
On July 1, 2016, cable operator Unitymedia will add the channel to its digital portfolio. RTLplus will also transmit via satellite on Astra (19.2° East) and as a live-stream and smartphone/tablet app on RTL’s streaming portal TV Now.
Advanced negotiations are underway with further platform operators to establish nationwide digital availability close to the launch date, according to parent company Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland.
RTLplus will show classics from RTL’s schedule in the 1990’s and after the turn of the century as well as original productions including remakes of game shows such as Family Feud, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
