Orange and Digi shine in Romania

Orange building with logoOrange Romania grew its TV subscriber base by 75.4% in 2015, ending the year with 275,000.

At the same time, reports ZF, the company’s turnover in 2015 amounted to RON4.585 billion (€1.016 billion), up 6% on the previous year, while its net profot fell by 35% to RON262 million.

Orange is the leading provider of mobile services in Romania and had a customer base of 10.177 million as of the end of 2015.

Meanwhile, RCS&RDS (Digi) had a turnover of RON2,698 billion in 2015. This was 17% up on the previous year and was the highest growth among the leading players in Romania’s telecom market.

Its net loss was also significantly reduced, from RON71 million in 2014 to RON17.9 million last year.

RCS&RDS is the leading provider of cable TV and fixed internet services in Romania.

It is also the second largest provider of DTH services and fixed telephony, along with the fourth largest mobile operator.
