Telecom Italia Media is launching a new Android-based decoder.
The new TIMvision box has been made in partnership with Google; it’s 4K ready, allowing content to be viewed in Ultra HD, it also has Wi-Fi connectivity and an integrated DVB-T2 tuner.
It offers instant access to TV centric apps available on the Google Play store and activated via a mobile device through Googlecast.
“The initiative came out of an important collaboration with Google and allows us to offer customers a new experience that combines TIMvision alongside unreleased content and the web,” says Daniela Biscarini, Manager of TIM Multimedia Entertainment. “The project is part of TIM’s strategy to deliver innovative services and confirms the role of technology enabler, with the aim of bringing more and more of our customers to the quality of streaming content and new ways of bringing them to fruition.”
The striking Semi-cone design will be launched in June to existing Smart TIM customers at €2 per month before being rolled out to the entire customer base and new customers.
