T-Mobile is looking into the possibility of launching a TV channel in the Czech Republic offering mostly content supplied by viewers.
However, quoted by E15, its product manager Vaclav Zadina, now may not be the right time to offer such a service, give the experience of others in different markets.
T-Mobile launched an IPTV service in the Czech Republic this April and Digi TV also plans to introduce one shortly.
Up until now, the country’s IPTV sector has been dominated by O2 TV, which has around 200,000 subscribers.
User generated content is currently used to some degree by the Czech public broadcaster CT in a service named iReporter.
In a separate development, local reports say that CT has decided to put back its full transition from SD to HD satellite transmisions by four months.
