Vodafone Romania has ruled out launching a DTH platform in the country.
Quoted by ZF, its CEO Ravinder Takker questioned the value of such a service and the synergies it would bring, with the company instead wanting “to do something more interesting and relevant”.
However, without providing any further details, he also said that Vodafone would make a number of moves in the content sector this year.
He also refused to confirm or deny that it could launch TV services via a mobile app, adding that it was instead focused on satisfying customers’ growing appetite for video content accessed on mobile devices.
While not specifying an amount, Takker in addition said that Vodafone Romania will make huge investments in the country.
It is known to have already invested €35 million in Project Spring.
