The Polish public broadcaster TVP has proposed the adoption of a new way of audience measurement that would include video shown on both TV and the internet.
Wirtualne Media reports that it has offered to enter into discussions with research companies about the possibility of such a method, inviting them to submit applications by June 20 to participate in talks.
TVP has been critical of the research conducted by Nielsen Audience Research, with its president Jacek Kurski saying the panel was too small and not representative of the general public.
Nielsen has been providing viewing figures for TVP since 2011 and has an agreement with the broadcaster until 2019.
Prior to 2011 TVP worked with TNS for 14 years.
