Danish cablenet YouSee has commenced the upgrade of customers to a new 1 Gigabit broadband service.
The first to be upgraded are subscribers to the Camps Cable networks in Lejre, East Denmark. Gigabit broadband will then be rolled out across the rest of the country over the next 18 months in partnership with Huawei.
1.4 million homes will be connected by the time the work has been completed.
YouSee says the project puts it well ahead of operators in other countries.
At the same time customers can upgrade to the new YouSee box that replaces the Samsung-branded unit.
