The Swiss cable operators associated in industry group Quickline will transmit selected games of the UEFA European Football Championship 2016 in Ultra HD.
The opening game as well as all matches from the quarter final onwards will be shown in the new video format. The broadcasts are produced by public TV channel SRF zwei which covers selected Euro 2016 games in UHD/4K.
Through Quickline, the UHD footage of the tournament will become available on Swiss cable for the first time. Competitor Swisscom will distribute SRF zwei’s UHD coverage on its IPTV platform.
Quickline comprises 24 independent network operators serving a total of around 420,000 households.
