Polish households will have to pay PLN15 (€3.38) a month as part of their electricity bills in order to fund the public broadcaster TVP and its radio counterpart.
Gazeta Wyborcza reports that this will be irrespective of whether or not they have a TV or radio as programmes on both can now be received on multiple devices.
Those who refuse to pay will not have their electricity supply cut off. Rather, they will probably be pursued by the tax authority.
There will be exemptions, such as households with elderly people and with disabilities, though owners/occupiers of more than one property will have to pay the PLN15 fee for each propert
