Its joining online broadcasters such as Netflix in using data to plan future content.
The myBBC Progress Report explains how the analytics are showing staff where audiences are coming from and how they engage with the content they see.
If a number of people are clicking on articles from a particular social platform, this is then built into future plans. This extends to content itself with teams analysing the content that audiences are engaging with.
In the next couple of months the BBC intends to launch a new app designed to improve content discovery.
BBC+ will aid viewers in finding collections of content of interest to them. It will build on a summer of sport that includes Euro 2016 in France, the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and the Olympics in Rio.
The BBC is also promising a personalised experience, based on its coverage of London 2012.
