The launch of new TV boxes in both Denmark and Norway have contributed to a better than expected first quarter for TDC Group.
YouSee’s new set-top for Denmark and the Get Box II in Norway come as part of a new ‘Always simpler and better’ strategy.
“I’m satisfied that we deliver the promised financial performance, even though we’re still facing many challenges, in particular in the Danish market. Despite the challenges, we are, however, off to a good start with our new strategy, and have already launched a number of initiatives to improve customer experience, for example new TV boxes for YouSee and Get customers and new cloud products for our business customers,” says Group CEO and President Pernille Erenbjerg.
TDC Group’s revenue for Q1 2016 reached DKK 5.8 billion with earnings (EBITDA) of DKK 2.2 billion 10% down on Q1 2015.
Another 19,000 customers were added to YouSee’s total in Denmark including 7,000 from utility company Trefor.
However, ARPU remained flat after January price increases.
