Switzerland’s national telco Swisscom has increased its number of IPTV customers in Q1 2016 by 36,000 to a total of 1.37 million.
166,000 IPTV customers were added in the past 12 months – a growth by 13.8% within a year. Two thirds of customers use cloud-based service Swisscom TV 2.0.
The number of Swisscom broadband internet customers rose by 60,000 to 1.97 million in the past 12 months.
The Swiss cable operators, however, lost 127,000 TV customers in the past 12 months – a decline by 4.8%. Switzerland had a total of 2.49 million cable TV households on March 31, 2016 (March 31, 2015: 2.62 million).
1.22 million households were signed up for cable internet at the end of Q1 2016 – a growth by 37,400 households compared with March 31, 2015.
