Interest in Netflix has waned in Poland following a strong start.
Figures produced by gemiusAudience for Wirtualne Media and published by the latter show that it had 337,674 real users on PCs in its first month of availability (January this year), with 2,744,902 opens and a reach of 1.49%.
However, this dipped to 73,666 real users and 619,603 opens in February, with a reach of 0.34%, before picking up in March to 160,618 real users, 959,775 opens and a reach of 0.73%.
Significantly, viewing of the service was so small on smartphones and tablets so as to not be included in the figures.
As in all other markets, Netflix was available on a free trail basis for the first 30 days.
Interest in the service was also boosted by the launch of the latest series of House of Cards.
However, lack of local language content and competition from other on demand services is currently holding back its growth in Poland.
