The Bulgarian Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) has fined two regional TV and internet providers following complaints from Bulsatcom, the country’s leading pay-TV operator.
According to Novinite, NetWorx Bulgaria and Nordelink Bulgaria were fined BGN358,620 (€182,442) and BGN94,020 respectively, equivalent to 3% of their net revenues and sales last year.
The CPC found that the two companies jointly offered TV and internet packages while not having the rights for all the TV channels contained in those packages. They have been given two weeks to appeal the decision.
As previously reported in Broadband TV News, the CPC fined Bulsatcom was itself fined earlier this week for failing to provide its customers with complete and accurate information about a new programme package.
