The Croatian incumbent Hrvatski Telekom (HT) ended the first quarter with 390,000 TV customers, or 0.7% fewer than in the same period last year.
However, its TV ARPU rose slightly, by 1.3% to HRK80 (€10.6).
In its latest set of results, the company points to the increasingly competitive nature of the pay-TV market in Croatia, adding that its satellite TV service, which is an extension to the IPTV offer, continues to grow and is expected to contribute significantly to HT’s overall TV success.
It adds that the Croatian pay-TV market had 767,000 customers at the end of 2015, or 3.2% more than a year earlier.
Although IPTV remains the leading technology, DTT is the fastest growing, up by 28.2% in 2015.
HT’s revenues in Q1 this year amounted to HRK1.67 billion (+3.4% y-o-y) and EBITDA was HRK627 million (-0.1%).
Net profit was HRK136 million (-10.1%).
