Conax Connected Access set to launch

April 27, 2016 13.20 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Conax Connected Access multi-purpose IPTV client should launch in the next quarter, with the first commercial deployment taking place shortly afterwards.

Speaking to Broadband TV News, Tom Jahr, EVP and head of product and marketing at Conax, said the solution’s advanced hybrid approach provides a next generation, multipurpose security client safeguarding broadcast, OTT, IPTV and the connected home.

Its flexible architecture integrates CAS and DRM providing one single security client across all devices and networks.

According to Jahr, the solution based on Kudelski Group technology collaboration will be a game-changer in the IPTV business and should secure the more telco business.

He added that, along with the Conax Contego unified security hub, the Conax Contego as a Service, cloud platform will allow the company to offer customers a hosted service.

Meanwhile, Erik Andersen, director area sales, Conax, said that Conax Connected Access creates new opportunities for operators to utilise two-way IP connectivity.

The advanced two-way solution will allow for the delivery of a variety of services including catch-up and VOD and furthermore will provide operators with invaluable information about their customers.
