The Polish public broadcaster TVP would like to sell commercial airtime for other TV stations.
Quoted by Wirtualne Media, Wojciech Kowalczyk, the deputy director of its ad sales office, said that it would like to take advantage of its 25-year experience, expert team and excellent technological infrastructure to increase competitiveness in the TV ad market and strengthen TVP’s position.
He added that TVP believed it could offer commercial broadcasters a complete service that went beyond the classical sale of advertising. It also wants to build a key position for itself in the internet video ad market.
Kowalczyk in addition said that in the light of current agreements, TVP could start working with other TV stations at the beginning of 2017.
The two leading sellers of commercial airtime in Poland are currently TVN Media and Polsat Media, with IDMnet, owned by ZPR Media, also an important player.
