Russia’s leading DTH platform Tricolor TV saw its HD subscriber base grow by 6% in the first quarter to a total of over 7 million.
Meanwhile, its total subscriber total exceeded 11.87 million as of the end of Q1, with around a third opting for a package, costing R2,000 (€26.4) a year, that allows HD channels to be viewed on multiple screens.
Tricolor TV also saw significant growth in its revenues in Q1, the R3.4 billion total being 32% higher than for the same period last year.
As of the end of this March, subscribers within the footprint of the Express-AMU1″ and Eutelsat 36B satellites could view a total of 260 TV channels, three dozen of which were in HD.
