Russia’s TV ad market grew by 18% in the first quarter and is expected to grow by a further 13% in the second.
Citing data provided by Vi, the country’s leading ad sales house, Kommersant reports that the preliminary data show January (+20%) to have been the best performing month so far this year.
It also says that market participants forecast growth of 3-5% for this year as a whole.
However, it is also pointed out that the growth can in part be attributed to the “low base effect”.
The decline in Russia’s TV ad market began in late 2014 and in Q1 2015 its value was 21% down on the same period a year earlier.
Its total value in 2015 amounted to R136.7 billion (€1.82 billion), or 14% less than in 2014.
