Ericsson has announced the creation of a software-defined video processing solution for ultra-high-quality encoding and video delivery.
Ericsson MediaFirst Video Processing incorporates expertise from the recent acquisition of Envivio. It brings together software-defined management, an advanced suite of video coding algorithms and processing for headend functionality and support for the cloud.

Ericsson completed its $125 million purchase of Envivio in October 2015.
