Poland’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has issued a strong response to TVP’s reaction to research into news output recently undertaken by the regulator.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, TVP took exception to the findings of the research, which compared it unfavourably with its main competitors Polsat and TVN.
The KRRiT concludes its detailed response by saying: “Art. 6 paragraph 5 of the Law on Broadcasting obliges the (KRRiT) to organise the research of content and reception of media services. For the first time, the KRRiT has met with the reaction of a broadcaster, who instead of substantively responding to the results of the programme research has usurped the right to issue extreme moral judgments that are not based on facts, tearing apart the existing legal order. This is unreliable”.
