The Polish music channel Eska TV is set to shortly change its name and offer viewers a wider variety of programming.
Wirtualne Media reports that its operator ZPR Media has lodged a request with the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) for the name to be changed to Ósemka TV and for its brief to be extended to also include entertainment.
Eska TV was launched in 2009, since when the number of music channels available in Poland has increased significantly, with the sector now appearing to be saturated.
Eska TV is distributed by DTT, as are two other ZPR Media channels (Polo TV and Fokus TV).
It also operates a satellite channel (Vox Music TV) and plans to launch a further DTT channel (Nowa TV) later this year.
