The Polish public broadcaster TVP has issued a statement flatly denying a report in the newspaper Fakt claiming that it has plans to limit its commercial activities.
In it, TVP says that it is and will remain a key player in the advertising market.
Tellingly, TVP adds that is particularly angry that the incorrect information could reduce trust in public TV by its key partners, namely media houses and advertisers.
TVP also says that it has already taken a number of steps this year to strengthen its position in the ad market.
In the same statement, TVP also denies it is working on an alternative media law.
Instead, its aim to prepare itself for various possible organisational and financial changes that may take place following the enactment of a new law.
