UKTV has recorded record revenues of £319 million.
The Scripps-BBC Worldwide venture behind Dave, Home and W says it now has a share of commercial impacts ahead of both Sky and Channel 5.
UKTV posted record operating profits of £79.6 million, up from £72.3 million in 2014 and £66.2 million in 2013, which represents an increase of over 20% over two years.
Darren Childs, Chief Executive, said, “Double digit growth is a tough goal. But we’ve achieved that in profit, in revenue and importantly, in investment in our programmes. That’s helping our reputation as a credible and successful investor in creativity go from strength to strength.
“UKTV has had market-beating growth again this year, taking the business to the next level. As investment increases, I’m confident this year will see yet more significant growth for this vibrant business.”
There has been a subtle change in emphasis as UKTV has gradually moved its channels from mini-pay to free-to-air. In December Drama, Yesterday and Really launched on Freesat and Home debuted on Freeview (DTT) in March. In between entertainment channel Watch relaunched as W.
On demand service UKTV has seen a 26% increase in views year-on-year. It will launch on UKTV Play later in Q2.
