Israeli DTH provider Yes is facing a class action over a clause in its contracts that allows subscribers to freeze their subscriptions for a 30-day period.
The petitioners claim the clause is discriminatory because a shorter period is possible for those subscribers that contact the operator by telephone. They say this amounts to customer desception and is against consumer protection laws.
Compensation to the tune of NIS 736 million is being sought by the customers who say they were denied services by being forced to freeze their subs for the longer period.
