HD+ to expand Ultra HD offer

Legendary Cove (Spiegel TV Wissen)German DTH satellite platform HD+ will add further Ultra HD programmes to the showcase channel UHD1 by Astra/HD+ it jointly operates with Astra satellite operator SES.

German pay-TV channels Spiegel TV Wissen and Spiegel Geschichte will contribute productions in the new format.

On April 19, 2016 viewers will be able to watch exclusively on UHD1 by Astra/HD+ the first two episodes of a 10-part series covering a sailing trip on board the Barinia through the Mediterranean Sea. Each Tuesday at 20.15 CET, two episodes will be aired.

The programmes can be received by HD+ subscribers with an activated smartcard through an Ultra HD TV set. The episodes will be repeated each Sunday at 16.00 CET from April 24, 2016.

Under the brand Spiegel TV UHD, UHD1 by Astra/HD+ wants to screen further Ultra HD productions by Spiegel TV Wissen and Spiegel Geschichte in the first half of 2016. The demo channel can be received on Astra (19.2° East) on the frequency 10.994 GHz H (SR 22,000, FEC 9/10).

HD+ recently also concluded agreements with BonGusto, Arte and Marco Polo TV to show Ultra HD productions on UHD1 by Astra/HD+.
