Andre Prahl is the new chairman of German industry association Deutsche TV-Plattform.
The head of programme distribution at commercial broadcaster Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland was unanimously elected to the top position at the association’s member assembly on April 11, 2016 in Cologne.
Prahl’s deputies will be former chairman Wolfgang Elsäßer (Astra Deutschland) and Dr. Andreas Bereczky (ZDF). Gert von Manteuffel (Deutsche Telekom), Dr. Michael Rombach (ARD/NDR) and Markus Zumkeller (Sony Europe) were elected into the executive board.
Deutsche TV-Plattform is an association of commercial and public broadcasters, hardware manufacturers, infrastructure operators, service and technology providers, research institutes and universities, state authorities and other companies, organisations and institutions involved in digital media.
The goal of the society founded 25 years ago is the deployment of digital technologies based on open standards.
