Netherlands-based TV Entertainment Reality Network (TERN) is launching a version of its Insight channel to Sky TV viewers in the UK.
However, unlike the version in continental Europe where Insight is in Ultra HD, viewers at 28.2 degrees East, the version on Sky will for the time being only be available in the HD format.
Mariam Zamaray, Chief Executive Officer at TERN, said, “Riding on our successful launch of Insight UHD and HD at Astra 19.2 six months ago, we are looking forward to entering new markets and reaching many more viewers across Europe and worldwide. Thanks to SES satellites and services, we are now expanding on the Sky digital platform, and are planning to
launch Insight with Vodafone Spain and across the US.”
Norbert Hoelzle, Senior Vice President, Commercial Europe at SES, added, “From broadcasting in UHD and HD to TERN’s plans to reach new audiences, we are delighted to be part of their expansion plans and to work closely with them to provide the needed capacity and services.”
Programming will be different from the UHD version, as Insight Originals will first be shown on the UHD channel and ony come a few months later on the HD version.
