Nearly three in four TV homes in Hungary now opt for digital services.
Data produced by the regulator NMHH shows that the figure stood at 72.2% as of the end of February, based on information provided by the country’s leading operators.
The data also show that as of the end of February there were a total of 2,229,368 cable and IPTV subscriptions, of which 1,333,573 were for digital services.
Meanwhile, the DTH subscription total stood at 895,578 and there were also 101,914 pay-DTT (MinDig TV) subscriptions.
The estimated total number of TV subscriptions was 3,485,000, with the 10 major market players accounting for 3,226,680.
In terms of market share irrespective of technology, UPC claimed top spot with 26.9%, closely followed by Telekom with 25.4% and Digi with 24.7%.
The next largest player was Invitel, with 4.6%.
