Red Arrow Entertainment Group, the TV production subsidiary of German media company ProSiebenSat.1, has founded a production firm as a joint venture with Canadian director and showrunner Kari Skogland.
Based in Toronto and Los Angeles, Mad Rabbit will produce high-end drama for the international market, according to the founders. The company will be led by Kari Skogland, director of drama series such as House of Cards, The Walking Dead, The Americans, Vikings, Boardwalk Empire and The Borgias.
The board of directors will be chaired by industry veteran Peter Sussman, former entertainment group CEO and co-controlling voting shareholder at Alliance Atlantis Communications and more recently co-founder and executive chairman of film and television financier Aver Media.
Development at Mad Rabbit will be led by Los Angeles-based Elsie Choi, a former development exec for Bruce Willis whose credits include Fifty Dead Men Walking.
Red Arrow Entertainment holds a minority stake in Mad Rabbit and Red Arrow International will distribute Mad Rabbit’s projects internationally.
