Liberty Global’s Dutch cabler Ziggo has launched a new Sport Experience App for the Horizon set-top box as a companion for its Ziggo Sport channel.
When Ziggo customers with the Horizon mediabox tune in to Ziggo Sport, they will see an icon pop up after one minute, prompting them to activate the app.
“Our customers want to have more fun with our services. They want to have a complete experience within the environment we provide. The Sport Experience App allows the enthusiast to literally crawl into the game and offers the possibility to analyse the information and create statistics themselves. That increases the pleasure of watching. The first ‘enhanced competition’ (= statistics) is a match from the English Championship between Queens Park Rangers and Middlesbrough, the upcoming Friday, April 1, which is broadcast on Ziggo Sport,” said Peter Dörr, commercial director of Ziggo.
