The largest pay-TV groups and telcos currently offer the most diverse portfolios of advanced services.
Speaking in a joint presentation with Simon Trudelle, senior director, product marketing, Nagra, Jon Watts, co-founder and director MTTM, said that the key characteristics of these innovation leaders, who include Dish, DirecTV, Time Warner Cable, Sky and Deutsche Telekom, are the ability to invest, significant R&D budgets, scale in pay-TV and other offers and connected base.
Nagra and MTM have set up a Pay-TV Innovation Forum to explore new opportunities for innovation and growth across the pay-TV industry. It will run for 6-7 months and focus on pay-TV operators in EMEA and the US and Trudelle and Watts were presenting its initial findings.
