Telekom Slovenije gains TV customers

March 14, 2016 09.01 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Telekom Slovenije-2Telekom Slovenije ended 2015 with 145,958 IPTV connections, or 6.9% more than a year earlier.

However, its market share of the IPTV sector in its home market Slovenia fell by 0.7 percentage points over the same period to 52.2%.

Telekom Slovenije had operating revenues of €647,901,000 in 2015, down from €649,082,000 a year earlier.

Its EBITDA amounted to €166,343,000 (€125,954,000) and net profit stood at €45,925,000 (€17,838,000).

Telekom Slovenije Group has additional interests in Slovenia, as well as in Kosovo, Macedonia and other countries. Its net profit in 2015 was €68,095,000, which was 3% more than planned and compared to €1,506,000 a year earlier.

Commenting on the results, Rudolf Skobe, Telekom Slovenije’s president of the management board, said: “The results that we achieved in 2015 show that we have been successfully implementing our strategy. We have been strengthening our position in the IT services market in Slovenia, and growing our user base in South-Eastern Europe. We are providing our users with state-of-the-art services, advanced technological solutions, and development that keeps pace with the latest industry trends. At the end of the year, we provided LTE/4G coverage to over 95% of the population of Slovenia, and the quality and stability of our network also reflect in our user’s opinion, which recognises us as the operator with the best network. We will continue developing our services and intensively strengthening our network in the future, when we will also transform the company Telekom Slovenije”.

Separately, Telekom Slovenije’s and Debitel’s boards have approved the latter’s acquisition by the incumbent.

The deal to buy Debited, a leading Slovenian MVNO, was announced in Q1 2015 and completed in October.
