MTV Germany has collaborated with Facebook to launch MTV+You, the channel’s first ever show airing live via Facebook – and not on TV.
The 1-hour interactive format – filmed live at the MTV studio in Berlin – debuted on February 23, 2016 and will air weekly on Tuesday evenings at 20.00 CET.
The 16-part series is presented by YouTube hosts Maren Merkel (Mary M.) and Tobias Wolf (Tobi Tobstaar) and features a number of celebrity guests talking about showbiz news, gossip and trends.
MTV’s live audience of Facebook fans are invited to participate and ask questions through the platform’s comment function.
The first episode of MTV+You recorded more than 60,000 live views and over 5,000 comments, with episode 2 receiving more than 80,000 views, according to the broadcaster.
MTV Germany is one of the first brands Facebook has invited to introduce live video streaming on their service.
