A+E Networks UK appoints Luke Duffy as VP ad sales

March 10, 2016 10.12 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Luke Duffy VP Ad Sales A+EA+E Networks UK has appointed Luke Duffy as vice president, ad sales, working across its portfolio of channel brands in the UK and international markets.

Duffy joins the global media company on March 14, 2016. He will work for all channels of the broadcaster, History, Lifetime, Crime + Investigation and H2.

A former Head of Trading at Channel 5, with extensive agency experience (Aegis, Starcom), Duffy will lead A+E Networks UK’s London-based sales team, with a remit to drive spot, non-spot and digital revenues across its commercial channels in UK, Benelux, Romania, Poland and Africa. Launching new ad sales markets will be a further key priority for Duffy.

Duffy will manage current and future relationships with A+E Networks’ sales houses across multiple territories, including Sky Media, RTL Netherlands, DSTV Media Sales (Africa), Polsat Media (Poland) and Transfer (Belgium). He will also take responsibility for pan-regional ad sales campaigns.

Duffy will report to Nicolas Eglau, COO at A+E Networks UK, and General Manager, Nordics, the Benelux and CEEMEA.

Announcing the news, Nicolas Eglau, said: “This is a key appointment for A+E Networks UK. Ad sales in all forms will be driving the growth of our company in the future. Luke’s extensive experience, both in agency and with a free-to-air broadcaster, will be very valuable in helping us execute this strategy across all markets.”

Luke Duffy said: “I am very much looking forward to this new challenge with A+E Networks. It’s a very dynamic market and I am looking forward to unlocking new opportunities across A+E’s channels and territories.”

This is the latest executive appointment at A+E Networks UK. The company announced last week the appointment of Matt Westrup as VP, operations.
