The Polish national commercial broadcaster Telewizja Polsat plans to rebrand and change the focus of its thematic channel Polsat Sport.
Wirtualne Media reports that it has lodged a request with the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) to have it renamed Super Polsat and to have it include movies and serials as well as sport in its programme line-up.
Significantly, 70% of its output will be accessible to people with visual or hearing difficulties.
Like Polsat Sport, Super Polsat will be distributed terrestrially on Poland’s second multiplex.
Aside from Polsat Sport, Polsat operates the sports channels Polsat Sport Extra and Polsat Sport News.
It also plans to launch two further sports channels – Polsat Sport 2 and Polsat Sport 3 – later this year.
