ITV Hub, All 4, Magine to Amazon Fire TV

March 8, 2016 09.43 Europe/London By Julian Clover & Jörn Krieger

Amazon fire-tvstick-remote2-89Amazon is adding PSB catch up services ITV Hub and All 4 to all its Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick in the UK, while German homes now receive Magine.

The belated additions means the Fire TV line-up now includes catch up services from all the UK’s major broadcasters (BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5). In all Fire TV features over 4,200 channels, apps and games.

Amazon Fire TV has been in the UK market since March 2015.

“With BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and My5, every single UK customer with a Fire TV or Fire TV Stick now has access to all of the UK’s most popular catch-up services,” said Jorrit Van der Meulen, Vice President, Amazon Devices EU. “Add these to Amazon Video, Prime Video, Netflix, UKTV Play, YouTube.com, Vevo, Curzon Home Cinema and many more, and it’s clear that Fire TV customers can enjoy access to a vast and growing range of content.”

Fire TV has quickly become Amazon’s top-selling device family, and Fire TV Stick is Amazon’s fastest-selling device ever.

Also featured are Netflix, UKTV Play, Curzon Home Cinema, Sky News, Spotify, Ministry of Sound Radio, Prime Music, Vevo, Plex, MUBI, TVPlayer and YouTube.

In Germany, Magine TV has launched on the Amazon Fire TV Box, on the Amazon Fire TV Stick and on Amazon Tablets. The app contains a new zapping feature and payment through the Amazon Account, for example  when signing up for pay-TV packages.
