Bosnia and Herzegovina’s three public broadcasters BHRT, RTV FBiH and RTRS will begin DTT tests in Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar between March 15 and 20.
According to Capital, this follows the issue of licences by the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA), with all being granted in the last few days.
Bosnia and Herzegovina missed the European transition to digital broadcasting deadline of June 17, 2015 for a number of reasons.
Besides its transmitters interfering with TV signals in neighbouring countries such as Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia, there were problems in the tender process for procurement of equipment, and in particular its ownership, for the first stage of the digitisation process.
The first stage, effectively making DTT signals available in Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar, will cost BAM7 million (€3.58 million).
