NRJ subsidiary Towercast is set to receive EUR18.2 million compensation following the revoking of two DTT multiplexes by the CSA.
Om November 18, 2015, French media authority CSA has revoked the licenses held by Towercast for the R5 and R8 multiplexes as of April 5, 2016 and to transfer these frequency bands – above 700 MHz – for mobile operators.
The repeal of these licences caused economic harm to the company, corresponding to a loss of revenue estimated at EUR11 million in full year for the years 2016 and 2017, partly due to the early termination of the licences.
The National Frequencies Agency (Agence Nationale des Fréquences) will now pay Towercast, on behalf of the state, compensation for damage suffered in the amount of EUR18.2 million.
