The high value services offered by Telefónica’s Movistar Fusión are growing in popularity, with 32% of its 4.2 million customers opting for internet access of 100 or 300 Mbps and 62% for pay-TV.
Year-end results published by the Spanish company show that in its home market the number of pay-TV subscribers as of Q4 stood at 3.7 million, or 10% more than 12 months earlier, including 926,000 from the DTS satellite service.
Revenues posted by Telefónica España included DTS’ contribution from May 1, 2015 and reached €12,402 million for the year, or 3.2% more than in 2014.
The Telefónica group, which includes operations in Germany and (principally) Latin America, had total revenues of €47,219 million in 2015, an 8.7% organic increase on a year earlier.
OIBDA was, as €11,414 million, 17.2% lower than in 2014and met income, at €2,745 million, down by 8.5%.
