An initial 50 TV series will be available when Sky Italia launches Sky Box Sets on March 1.
Around 1,500 episodes will be available in what the platform says is unsurpassed in Italy for the quality and variety of titles.
Already around 2 million Sky Italia households use Sky On Demand.
Agreements have been reached with studios including HBO, Showtime, ABC Studios and Fox for shows The X-Files, The Walking Dead, Dexter, Veep and The Bridge.
“Sky Box Sets is the perfect product not only for lovers of cult TV series, but also for those who heard about it and want to begin to follow, with ease,” said Pietro Maranzana, Chief Commercial Officer of Sky Italy.
Sky Box Sets is available on My Sky, part of the Sky On Demand service, and is included in the subscription for all customers with the HD and Sky Family packagse. For everyone else the cost is €5 per month. The selection of Sky Box Sets will also be accessible on the move for all customers who have active Sky Go.
