Turner Deutschland will close down its women’s channel TNT Glitz and launch TNT Comedy as part of a revamp of its German pay-TV portfolio.
From 1 June, 2016, TNT Glitz which launched four years ago will be replaced by TNT Comedy, a new entertainment channel mainly showing sitcoms and comedy series.
In return, series channel TNT Serie will be focused on drama, action and crime. The comedy formats screened by TNT Glitz will move to TNT Comedy while the drama and crime series part of TNT Glitz’s schedule will move to TNT Serie.
The focus of TNT Film on movies from all centuries will remain unchanged.
Turner Deutschland will continue to produce original local content for TNT Serie and TNT Comedy, mainly series and entertainment programmes. The broadcaster also wants exclusive content from the Turner network to play a more important role on its German pay-TV channels in future.
TNT Serie will be the home of TNT original series produced by Turner USA in collaboration with Turner International such as The Last Ship and Good Behavior. TNT Comedy will broadcast a large number of productions from Turner’s US comedy channel TBS as German TV debuts, for example the second season of Angie Tribeca and comedy series like Search Party, The Detour and Wrecked.
