German commercial TV broadcaster Autentic has acquired more than 400 hours of documentaries from BBC Worldwide Germany for the pay-TV channels Spiegel Geschichte and Spiegel TV Wissen it jointly operates with production company Spiegel TV.
The package covers the areas of society, politics, culture and history and contains programmes like Daft Punk, David Bowie – Five Years, Tomorrow’s Food and The Story of China.
Spiegel Geschichte and Spiegel TV Wissen will show the documentaries in the next years, in some cases as German TV debuts. Autentic has also secured the video-on-demand rights, enabling the channels to offer the programmes on catch-up services.
